Discover a piece of history aboard the S/S Karim Nile Steamer Cruise. Constructed in 1917, it hosted Egyptian royalty and leaders like Nasser and Sadat. Experience a buffet or waiter-served meal in the restaurant, hosting up to 32 candlelit dinners. Enjoy an array of beverages in the lounge, peruse the library dating back to 1849, and revel in the ballroom’s ambiance. Immerse in this unique journey, where modern luxury meets rich history. Explore S/S Karim’s story now.
Karim is a genuine piece of Nile history. Dating from 1917, it is by far the oldest vessel in our Luxury collection, and with just 15 cabins and 30 guests on three decks it feels more like a private house party than a cruise.
This is a boat you choose for character, not for a long list of facilities. There is no swimming pool; instead there is a Jacuzzi, a restaurant where everyone dines together, and plenty of time to watch the river from the deck. Cabins are a comfortable 20 sq m and come with a private bathroom, mini bar, in-cabin safe and WiFi. At $690 it costs the same as far larger modern ships – what you pay for here is rarity and atmosphere.
| Ship | Category | Cabins | Cabin size | From price | Facilities |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Karim Nile Steamer Cruise | Luxury | 15 | 20 sq m | $690 | Jacuzzi |
| MS Esplanade Nile Cruise | Luxury | 67 | 20 sq m | $690 | Pool, Spa, Gym, Jacuzzi |
| Sonesta Moon Goddess Nile Cruise | Luxury | 53 | 20 sq m | $690 | On request |
| Steigenberger Legacy Cruise | Luxury | 76 | 19 sq m | $690 | Pool |
Karim is for travelers who want history and intimacy; if you would rather have a pool, spa and gym at the same $690, MS Esplanade is the modern alternative.
